Case Manager / Registered Occupational Therapist


Lisa is a Registered Occupational Therapist serving clients in the Ottawa and surrounding areas since 2002. Prior to becoming an occupational therapist, Lisa practiced as a Certified Kinesiologist working in physical conditioning and rehabilitation.


Lisa has a wealth of experience serving clients with neurological, psychological, physical, and cognitive disabilities and injuries. She has worked both as an occupational therapist and as a case manager. She has provided services to people in the automobile insurance sector, private & public employers, WSIB system, longterm care settings, and from Veterans Affairs Canada. 


She has extensive experience in providing comprehensive assessment and treatment of traumatic brain injuries (all levels of severity), stroke, spinal cord injuries, amputations, musculoskeletal injuries, muscular sclerosis, ALS and complex injuries. She employs her advanced clinical reasoning skills to interpret clients’ histories and plan their assessments, and to develop treatment goals for cognitive, physical, and psychosocial functions relative to self-care, productivity and leisure.


Her creative and individualized approach to cognitive rehabilitation treatment and care has resulted in a solid reputation for providing quality and individualized service to those with traumatic and acquired brain injuries. She also has extensive experience in home accessibility assessment and recommendations, and is familiar with qualified contractors and landscapers in the Ottawa area.

 

Lisa is known as a professional and compassionate case manager who listens to her client’s needs and responds quickly to facilitate qualified care services and rehabilitation. She provides the necessary education and support to families of the insurance and rehabilitation process.

 


Miranda LegassickMiranda Legassick

Registered Occupational Therapist


Miranda is a Registered Occupational Therapist who serves public, private, auto insurance and WSIB clients in Ottawa and the surrounding areas. She completed her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. She is passionate about her profession and brings an energy and professionalism to all files. This makes her a favourite with clients.

 

She has experience in neurology, orthopaedics, chronic pain, cardiology, psychiatry and musculoskeletal injuries including but not limited to amputations. Miranda brings creativity and a team approach to her clients with traumatic brain injuries.

 

She has a particular passion in working with clients who struggle with depression and anxiety and need a supportive but goal-oriented approach to their recovery. She also has an interest and experience in optimizing home accessibility.

 

She has a reputation for comprehensive assessments, high quality reports and developing rapport with clients who have difficulties making links with service providers. Miranda is a client-centred occupational therapist who listens to her clients, and develops goals and interventions that are relevant to them. Miranda is also able to complete comprehensive attendant care assessments and assessments for medical-legal files.

 


Leslie OdellLeslie Odell

Registered Occupational Therapist / Case Manager


Leslie is a Registered Occupational Therapist, with over 15 years experience in acute care, rehabilitation, and community settings. She serves public, private, auto insurance and Veterans Affairs clients. She works both with children and adults alike.


Leslie is known for excellent interpersonal and communication skills. She brings professionalism, responsibility and enthusiasm to all her files. She has experience in polytrauma, neurological disorders and injuries, brain injury, dysphagia, mood disorders, chronic pain and amputations. She has extensive experience in providing comprehensive assessments and treatment, including return to work, optimizing function within the home and facilitating quality of life. Her continuing education efforts have focussed on brain injury, chronic pain and seating. She is a qualified ADP authorizer for walkers, and manual and power wheelchairs.  


As a case manager she brings a strategic and comprehensive plan to her client’s rehabilitation. She focuses on communication, goal setting and team approach to team management. She enjoys the community setting of her practice as it allows her to see her clients in their own environment.


Leslie is also experienced in completing comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and reports for life care planning and for medical-legal files.
